Harland David SandersThis is a featured page

Harland David Sanders was 65 years old when he received his first social security check of $105.00. He was broke, and owned a small house and a beat up car. He made a decision that he was not going to live like this and something has to change. The only idea he had was a chicken recipe, which his family and friends liked a lot.

With that idea in mind, he took massive action. He left his home in Kentucky and traveled to several states in the U.S. to sell his idea. This is how it went: He told the restaurant owners that he had a chicken recipe that people liked, and he was going to give it to them free. What he wanted in return was for the restaurant owners to pay him a small percentage on the pieces of chicken sold. He got rejection after rejection after rejection (Some folks were down right mean), but Harland did not give up.

In fact, he got over 1000 rejections in a row (Can you imagine being kicked in the pants a thousand times? He got 1009 no’s before he got his first yes.

With that ONE success, Colonel Sanders changed the eating habits of the whole world with Kentucky Fried Chicken, and in every town with at least 20,000 people, you will find a KFC, and only because he refused to give up...Quitting was not an option for Harland (That is why they call him the Colonel) Age is no barrier to success, and neither is capital. What is needed is an idea put into “action”, followed with proper planning and persistency.
